All of which ignores the fact that the present Hammersmith Flyover won't last for ever and something will need to be done to allow the A4 trunk road to continue operating. Waffling on about evil road lobbyists and long-abandoned road expansion schemes is not a sensible alternative to planning what will happen when the flyover is finally life-expired. There are basically four options - 1) a replacement flyover 2) a flyunder 3) bringing traffic back to ground level 4) closing the A4 as a trunk road east of Chiswick Unless anyone can think of another alternative, which is the least-worst option ? |
