| As an aside, while Hounslow Council have been embracing "rewilding" our pavements, their colleagues in Ealing appear to be set on un-wilding 25 hectares of what is known as Warren Farm Nature Reserve near Osterley Park by selling it off for sports pitches - many of course will be artificial (i.e. plastic). It's a murky tale - told in the current Private Eye - and there are petitions and the usual protests for anyone who wants to have their opinion heard. (Good luck with that.) The Eye article winds up thus. "Poor people need football more than they need nature. Discuss." |
