| Guy, you have again quoted an inaccurate report. Glyphosate was not banned in the EU in December 2022, as is stated in the article you posted a link to. We are all familiar with the problem of there being a lot of unreliable information on the internet and the confusion and harm it causes. The advice is to seek authoritative sources of information.You should look at what the Health and Safety Executive HSE, the governments regulator says about it. That should be a credible source for a Local Authority to rely on. All the data related to the EU not banning it is also online, including details about the research. Both the HSE and latest EU studies conclude that Glyphosate does not cause cancer. HSE says; The UK has a rigorous approvals process for pesticides. The main aim of the process is to protect the health of people, creatures and plants and to safeguard the environment. All companies wishing to obtain approval for their pesticides are required to submit substantial data dossiers to support their applications. The extensive range of studies undertaken on pesticides is aimed at establishing acceptable safety for people, animals and the wider environment. This process has been applied to glyphosate which has been approved as safe and efficacious for a number of years now. As for you seeing more bees, great. Why do you think that is because LBH has stopped treating weeds in streets. What research have you do to determine cause and effect? |
