A lot of intemperate language in this thread. Just back from the High rd, and its pretty chaotic. It seems sunday restrictions are certainly not in force, and traffic is pretty poor. I have found problems manouvering both push chairs and wheelchairs on a Sunday due to inconsiderate parking, and the traffic congestion is clearly causing air quality problems. Something needed to be done, and now more than ever with the flyover closure. Given the number and frequency of bus routes, plus tube links, or even a nice stroll, I really dont understand this obsession with driving to the High rd. It would be nice to see something done to improve the junction of Heathfield terrace and the High Rd, where the E3 often gets stuck. THe green light here is very, very short, and the taxi stand and cars parked on the left make the left turn lane pretty redundant. It would be good to see some measures on issues like these as well as general parking restrictions. |
