| LBH have wanted Sunday parking restrictions to be the same as the week day restrictions for a long time. They, like some others, can’t get their heads around a busy high street; it’s probably the only day the shops do any decent trade, hence so many are closing down. Of course, they’re not lying now, but I can already hear their voices once the flyover is fixed: “Whilst introducing 7 day parking restrictions was a temporary measure, we’ve been quite surprised just how much the measures improved traffic flow along the high road, and there have been no reports of any lost trade to shops. Therefore, to make the high road as safe a place as possible, we’ve decided to keep the 7 day restrictions in force.” I also suspect there’s ‘sucking up’ going on between LBH and Tfl: “Look Tfl, look what we’ve done for you.” How else can 24hr bus lane enforcement be justified? |
