| I am surprised by some of the comments here. I am not always the biggest fan of TFL or Hounslow, but some measures were clearly needed in light of the flyover closure. GIven that it seems at best we can expect a partial (one lane) opening in a few weeks, traffic is likely to be bad for several months. I am glad hounslow are asking TFL to flag that the High rd is a not a good alternative route for commercial oeprators, I have seen Natioanl Express and other coach operators on the High rd which I feel is inappropriate. I also think SUnday traffic is in normal situations increasingly problematic, and personally would welcome the permanent introduction of such measures. However, 24 hour bus lanes have always struck me as over the top. Late evening or early morning there is no problem in driving in a bus lane. |
