According to webtrack planes over Battersea park are at nearly twice the altitude of planes over Chiswick. 1100m instead of 650m. Chiswick House grounds with a newspaper would be a better comparison, though that's not directly under a flightpath. There's no mystery here. I lived around here for years, spent plenty of time in comparable areas under the existing flight paths, and I know what aircraft sound like! I'm aware of the well known effect you refer to, and no I'm not setting myself up. HM gov does a good enough job there... |
