| Right to Buy in 1980 was a stunning opportunity to create a more equal society which is what you are advocating. The challenge being that it was not updated, the discounts were too deep and the revenue did not go back to local council to build new social housing. The inception and intent of the policy was decent. The cost of upgrading a Victorian terrace, double glazing etc would have cost a huge amount, just wasn't worth it as an accidental landlord costs versus income in some years was negative. Every government policy just eroded the hassle/tax = no gain. I thought Blair was an excellent PM he understand how the manage a country. Not like this lot who are just taxing high spending high. Whether you agree with government borrowing money or not we are paying the highest for 28 years under this government forget Liz Truss the markets reacted but at a much lower rate of interest. So you wont hear this government mentioning her name again after dining out on her. This government is cruel, patronising and purely incompetent. This isn’t attacking Starmer his far left back benchers have a lot to answer for. |
