| Wholesale electricity prices in Spain and Portugal last Monday hit an all time high of €154 per megawatt hour. Still a fraction of UK prices. Perhaps you are confusing wholesale prices with retail prices (which are subject to taxes, subsidies etc.). But even then your figures still don't make sense - Portugal is middle ranking in electricity price terms. Whatever the reason, your facts are simply wrong. Electricity prices are high (across Europe) but substantially higher in the UK, mainly because of Brexit. And likely to go through the roof before the end of the year, unless we rejoin the European Energy Market. I have no doubt that you will make one of your unsubstantiated, hubristic responses, Perhaps throw in an insult or two. But facts are facts. |
