| That is a nice simple summary. It is no surprise that those who voted remain feel so very aggrieved by the efforts of May and her band of idiot ministers. What is a surprise is that consistently those who voted leave back in 2016 (on the basis that a great deal with the EU was going to be easy and quick) are now happy to go along with a no deal exit. They do not seem to realise that they have been sold a pup and are getting a the worst of all worlds. A no deal exit is still very much on the cards. The EU have to confirm any asked for extension to Brexit. There is a good chance they will refuse or demand a long, long extension (a year, two years?). After all with MEP elections in May, and no sign that 2-3 months more for the UK will make any difference, then why should they grant a short extension? It does appear as if European countries have progressed well towards readiness for a no deal Brexit. I suspect they will call May's bluff and say 'no, no extension'. With a whole 2 weeks to go then it's May's deal (unacceptable to so many in her party and the DUP) or no deal. No deal it is then. |
