| It may be an expression of strong feelings and exasperation but the slagging matches both here,in the media and in Parliament has got to stop. Whatever your views, hearts and minds will not be won by insults and name calling. Believe me, in my career I have often wanted to verbally kick someones teeth in. It's human nature but, in my experience, no deals, agreements or constructive negotiations have been won by insults. You just harden peoples position. Sadly I think the animosity is maybe so deep rooted we are unable to turn back and work together to get a satisfactory outcome with both sides agreeing to compromise. I hope not but now is the time for real constructive leadership, the sort not seen since WW2. Is there anybody to fill the boots? Blow me if I can see one. |
