| With near perfect timing a Mr Brogan has started a thread which demonstrates your point exactly. I was saved from indicating to him that he is clearly a bellowing gammon of ignorance by a polite explanation of why the basis of his thinking is fundamentally wrong. But it is clear that there are many like Brogan who have close to zero understanding of the issues and consequences. I would however add another aspect to the issue. As well as dismal education we have the problem of politicians and other commentators making false claims. And some of stirring up bad feeling and prejudice. Brogan calls the EU ‘bullies’. The EU have been open but clear on their position from the start. The threats and flouncing has only come from the UK. So why is Brogan convinced that the EU are behaving badly? Because idiot and desperate (and without conscience) MPs have told him so. This freedom to lie needs to be curtailed. |
