And as for the statues of slavers ... why the hell were / are they still there? These should have been removed long ago and placed in museums as a reminder that these people were revered for actions that we would now question. Trouble is that towns like Bristol were founded and funded on slavery (mostly) so it's a double edged sword. What about renaming Colston Hall for example? |
