| But I would add that I maintain that while it is cars doing almost all of the killing and hurting of pedestrians our number one priority should be to tackle that actual risk and danger via much more rigorous and strict enforcement of rule -breaking drivers, punitive taxation in urban environments on the biggest and most dangerous cars and, even more importantly, radically redesigning the built environment to get more cars off the road and create more safe space for all people who are not in cars. I'm sorry but that is the unavoidable truth of the matter when it comes to road safety whether you like it or not. |
