Clearly the mo-bike delivery drivers with their faded L-plates never got as far as the chapter on what the zig-zags approaching a zebra crossing mean. Having said that, I do feel more exposed where a zebra involves crossing a bi-directional cycle lane. While you can usually tell which direction motor traffic is coming from, and it can usually be relied upon to stop, bicycles less so. In addition there are cyclists that suddenly believe they’ve become pedestrians and decide to cycle across the zebra. |
