Great journalism! What else can we find to moan about? “ people are being injured”. How many people have been injured? Chertsey Road is in Hounslow. Presumably the unfortunate cyclist was cycling in the road. Was the bramble on private property or council property? If on private property the council can order us to remove. I have a large silver birch in my front garden, close to the boundary with branches over hanging the road. Yesterday some of the lower branches were removed to clear the road to the hight of double decker buses. Whilst the men were up there with ladders I weeded the pavement. Just grass growing up through cracks left by next doors builders so pavings need to be replaced but not hazardous or urgent. Neighbours away so I cleared theirs too without much effort. Several cyclists stopped for a distanced smile and a chat. Bus drivers waved. No problem. |
