| (copy of 24.5.20 message) The one near the main line station was called something like Robbies (can't be sure!) who was the owner. He trained at La Gavroche It was mayhem, the menu was devised on what the chef had managed to buy that day so you never were sure what was on that night until you got there. Food was good (generally) and not expensive. I remember one evening in particular when we (6) dined at 7.00pm and after free liqueurs managed to leave at 2.30 am. The babysitter was not amused. Need more restaurants like it. Good food, unpretentious and great fun. Never found out where he went. Wherever it was he must have made more money in the new place as, as sure as hell, he blew the whole lot in having fun in Chiswick! |
