| "I hope therefore you will stand back and consider your own feelings if your sculpture of Mary Bamber was paint-balled by some right wing thug.” You are basically saying that a sculpture celebrating the life of a suffragette might so annoy a person with a ring wing mind set that they would choose to throw paint at it.!! Says a lot about ring wing mentally if you think they would still find the idea of women voting that offensive. But, if they really did feel that strongly about it and wanted to stand around it and sing protest songs…or light candles, maybe shout at it, then I really wanted care. In fact I would celebrate the fact we live in a country where they could express their anger at my sculpture. If whilst they were there protesting, a group of riot police surrounded them, kept them their against their wills for hours, beat them, lie to the, stole some of their purses, made them stand in the own piss and crap, denied them food, water and medical assistance and the right to leave, I would totally understand their frustration if some choose to deface my work. But most of the with hunts that the Daily Hate mail and telegraph have led have turned up rich, public school students. Is seems those who like to swing from the Cenotaph and give things a good bashing are those from upper classes. But posh boy can make a grovelling apology, (and we can bet it was in perfect public school educated English). If he had been from some slum estate he would be looking at prison. I wonder where these public school boys get the idea that it is ok to smash things up. ? Oh its just high jinks when the rich do it. Something they learn at the Bullingdon Club eh http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Bullingdon-Club And, even if some ‘ring wing’ twat did take a disliking to my work and choose to throw some paint over it – I wouldn’t really get that upset, because its being made to withstand that kind of vandalism. It would just get cleaned off. I am a professional after all. |
