| "You said Mary Macleod was heading for defeat: you were wrong." Robbie - why is it you just cannot read and understand simple English. Of course Mary was 'heading' for defeat. It was a fact. I wasn't wrong to state that she was 'heading' for defeat. But as I said earlier, things changed and she won and I am pleased that she ousted Mrs Expenses. Its what happens in politics if the candidates LISTEN to their constituents and ACT accordingly. Mary did both. Mrs Expenses did neither. "You said Sue Sampson had no chance of winning in Isleworth: you were wrong." I did indeed say that Robbie and and I was wrong. I apologise for my terrible prediction. I completely over estimated the intellect of about (remind me again, what was it +/- 1700 voters?) However, I prefer not to think of it as Sue winning, but rather of the ICG losing, simply because the local elections were held on the same day and also because the dim-witted local Tory leadership fielded a candidate where they had no chance of winning. They got what they deserved though! "You also strongly implied that the Lib Dems would win Brentford & Isleworth:" No I didn't - I said it was a two horse race between Mary and Andrew. Sadly the third horse had more support than I imagined would be possible and whilst the result for Mary doesn't bother me a jot, I am deeply saddened that the decent Andrew Dakers also lost his Council seat. That is something I cannot understand and nobody seems to be able to explain it. |
