| Yes, it is a wedge issue and it’s the only thing the Tories can hold on to after tanking the economy and becoming unelectable. The dreadful thing is that Braverman et al are deliberately ignoring their legal responsibilities and are contributing to the misinformation around the rights of people seeking asylum an also refugees. We are way down the list of preferred final destinations for these desperate people(mostly) - why doesn’t Braverman say that? Or why will she not say that international law states that it is the asylum seeker who determines where their final safe destination is and that people who keep peddling the argument that people should remain in France just because they consider it safe are not in a position to do so as it is not lawful. The facts do not fit her agenda so she ignores them and resorts to language the incites unrest. |
