| Why ask me? It’s not for me to decide. That’s the job of the Home Office, which it is failing to do. You seem content to allow children to sleep on floors in tents and ignore the law. We are under the illusion in this country that all refugees and asylum seekers only want to come to the UK. This is simply not true. The UK is not even in the top ten of preferred destinations for people in such dire predicaments. If people arrive and have no right to be here then they need to be sent back after due process but while their applications are being processed then the law is quite clear that they must be treated properly. |
