| You'd think that as an 'island nation' as Britannia is like Aus that dealt with their migrant prob by repositioning migrating or rehoming (even if as a halfway point) their migrants to an offshore Aus island, and that Greece also corralled 1000s of 'boat people' on their hospitable 'lesbian island' (Lesbos) that we Britannics couldn't likewise find a similar 'hospitable Lesbos haven' offshore of Great Britain's islanded island to accommodate so many wanted or unwanted guests. The Isle of Wight, Anglesea, or Isle of Man comes to mind for a start. Otherwise, re-crofting of long forgotten Hebridean islands might be an option that the Georgian Clearances formerly cleared out. Just trying to suggest solutions to 1000s upon 1000s of non-Anglo migrants wanting hospitality in Blighty. |
