I don't believe it is a fallacious argument. If people don't like traffic restrictions that reduce through traffic, why do they only care about the new ones and not the old ones? If it is discriminatory for some people to benefit from not living on rat runs and others not, then why do people not want to open up all roads to through traffic? 10 years ago there was a lot less traffic on C roads - it has increased dramatically for lots of reasons, but those living in LTNs were shielded from it. Should these old LTNs go so everyone suffers equally and fairly? Or is it better to introduce new LTNs and force through traffic back onto the main roads? |
