Nope. The arguments against new traffic management schemes are directly applicable to old traffic management schemes. Traffic displacement, congestion and extra pollution for the poor residents who don't live in the old schemes. Schemes are not made more equitable through age. Acton Lane bus gate chaos - open Chiswick Road to two-way traffic. Problem solved. Chiswick Lane / CHR chaos - open Beverley Road. Problem solved. Turnham Green Terrace chaos = open Thornton Avenue and Chiswick Common Road. Problem solved. Actually it is obvious that these old traffic management schemes are directly responsible for the worst traffic Chaos in Chiswick and are much worse than the new schemes for congestion. |
