| Let me see if I understand today's developments - please update or correct as needed: 1) Johnson has thrashed out a revised 'deal' with the EU 2) It is very like the May deal that was handsomely rejected (plural) except with changes to make it worse for DUP, ERG, Lib-Dems, Labour, SNP and everyone except Johnson (who calls it a Trump-like "great deal") 3) The EU member states have not yet ratified it but are likely to 4) Parliament has not yet approved it and is not likely to (given the MP numbers - especially as genius Johnson kicked 20+ tories out of his party) 5) If / when the deal is rejected by parliament then Johnson is obliged to ask for an extension for another 4 months of messing about (and this government was exemplary in making such good use of the last 4 months) 6) The EU has announced today that it will not grant an extension; frankly they are sick of the UK's farting about and just want rid of us 7) That means .... no deal exit at the end of the month? |
