| Not everyone wants an SUV. Germany’s infrastructure problems extend way beyond its autobahn bridges. The railway network is on its knees, despite a recent 100bn euro cash injection from government. It’s simply not enough to make up for 30 years of neglect of rails, bridges and other vital parts of the network. The lesson is obvious, even for children like Paul James. If you don’t maintain what’s already built then it costs even more to fix. Considering western economies rely on good transport infrastructure neglecting this is going to cause economic harm over time. Bike lanes don’t count, but the way. |
