She was asked specifically about Hammersmith Bridge, so it hardly says much that her response mentioned it! As for "exactly the sort of project", given the fund is £1billion to cover what the government announced as 3000 bridges, it better not be, or that fund won't make much of a dent! Heidi Alexander gave a more a rather more revealing answer in parliament last week, when asked once more about the bridge: "I am sure that we will be talking about Hammersmith bridge again, as we have for many years". So at least you can expect many more opportunities to claim that it's about to move forward. |
