Jeremy, You can be sure that the Furgo would have delivered a very comprehensive report on the data they gathered. But gathering data is not the same as assessing what it means if there is a change to the bridge's structure. What is the proposed design for the bridge? Foster + Partners may have produced some artists impressions and CAD pictures of sticking a truss on top of the existing structure, but have they done all of the detailed design calculations for the loading that would create? Probably not unless they have got a contract from LBHF to do the detailed design work. The wishful thinking appears to be the people who are citing nothing more than unverified hearsay and verbal anecdotes. Particularly given the complete absence of any documents backing up what they claim they heard from unspecified people of unknown expertise and authority. |
