The £250M cost figure appeared before Fugra completed their geotechnical survey project. You are making an assumption that the survey data did not reveal anything that would further add to the costs. You may think the minister 'raised hopes' (your hopes anyway) but like all previous transport ministers, she is kicking the can down the road making no commitments one way or the other. No politician wants to be the one who formally pulls the plug. Given the short shelf life of transport ministers, there is a fair chance it will become the next minister's problem. |
