Don't knock our plug design. It's one of the few areas where we don't need to be embarrassed by British exceptionalism. So many plus points: individually fused; right-angle cord entry, to prevent pulling out the plug by the cord; extra wide spacing between the pin terminals to avoid shorting, and an extra-long earth pin which is slightly longer than the current-carrying pins and "unlocks" the socket.
