| Nothing that I have ever taken to the tip (sorry, recycling centre) could have been disposed of any other way. It has always been a journey of last resort for me so harrowing is the experience of running the gauntlet to the crusher. I'd happily put out offcuts of MDF or unwanted plastic plant pots or bits of guttering and all the other stuff that accumulates in a normal household, but I'm pretty sure I'd just end up being prosecuted for littering. There's no way that stuff is going to be taken away as part of the kerbside collection. I have been a regular advertiser of free stuff on Nextdoor and that is not without its issues either. It sounds like you are defending the closure of the Stirling Road site Philippa. If that is so I think you are misguided. As I said earler, in the real world, rubbish, like traffic doesn't evaporate. Be in no doubt this is all motivated by the desire to cash in on the site's value for redevelopment. They'd probably sell off the schools if they could! |
