| Stewart Jones explained " There is a huge development planned for Bollo Lane in addition to the vast new development on the former South Acton estate. The recycling centre will be within easy walking distance of these new homes" I'd imagine its precisely the opposite. While everybody would like to have a recycling centre within a reasonable distance, nobody would actually choose to live around the corner from one. South Acton is being changed from a poor area/industrial estate - which has always been separated from the Mill Hill Estate by a high wall, into a "desirable area" attractive to people with no knowledge of, or interest in, its history. Not that this is of any great help to anyone of course. But unless its the intention of LBE to turn the whole of the borough into upmarket housing you'd imagine there must still be industrial sites nearer to hand than Greenford which could be of use. michael adams ... |
