| I've tried every approach here but nothing seems to work. I concluded that the best plan was just to keep a low profile and get in and out as quickly as possible without attracting too much attention, preferably while their x ray vision was focussed on some other poor confused miscreant. The list of "banned" items seemed to get longer and longer, though it seemed to be a bit of a moveable feast. My personal favourite was being told I couldn't put some timber offcuts in the "timber" skip because it was only for furniture. I offered to make a table out of my wooden bits and pieces and then chuck them in but I don't think they do irony. How we will miss the cheery cry of "that'll have to go to Greenford". We didn't know how lucky we were. |
