| It's the apparent lack of an overall plan for the Industrial Estate that concerns me. The South Acton Estate/Acton Gardens regeneration was based on a long term overarching plan, with a mix of housing and associated infrastructure. On the Industrial Estate we seem to be faced with increasingly speculative ad hoc applications for tall residential blocks to be built in apparently unsuitable locations, which cause some anxiety to local residents, while new light industrial developments continue to be built at the same time. It would be helpful to have some sense of what the deal is for this area, for we knew that the plan is to replace the Recycling Centre with much needed social housing, then more of us might come round to the idea. |
