| So the activists are taking a break for now and in spite of the huge crowds no-one was hurt. Millions of people are now aware of the seriousness of this and the need for urgent action. Not only from the Government but in their own lives. Responding to Parliamentary question on the protests from former Labour leader Ed Milliband, the government said it hoped to work with all parties to make progress with climate change. Environment Minister Michael Gove said the activists point had been made and it was time to have a serious conversation about what we can collectively do to deal with this problem. So far, so good but we now need to see this happen and Extinction Rebellion will make sure that it does! They have been warned! Meanwhile Greenpeace would be grateful if we can sign the petition calling on the Government to declare a Climate Emergency and then act on it. secure.greenpeace.org.uk/climate - emergency |
