| Yes, but it wasn't until I saw and heard JR-M saying that we could lower our EU environmental and health and safety standards to those of India that I understood fully Anna Soubry's statement that it wasn't that she had left the Conservative party but that it had left them. We all need to ask Government to reinstate a solar feed-in tariff and maybe Hounslow could invest in some solar panels on schools. There are community funded ones on schools in Ealing. Are there in Hounslow? https://ealingtransition.org.uk/solar-schools/ Has this been installed: https://www.emexlondon.com/hounslow-council-expects-to-save-148k-a-year-through-solar/ However with all the new construction work that is going up in Hounslow they should be making sure that it has good insulation for keeping the buildings warm and ventilation for keeping cool. With very small flats where you can't open windows to get cross ventilation the first thing people will do is reach for an electric fan. Are these new buildings suitable for extremes of cold and hot temperature? There should be shading and thought given to drainage to avoid flash floods. Sam Hearn is right. Who has heard of SuDS? He may not be flavour of the month with some but it is there in the Mayor's Draft Plan. |
