| Rima, I understand your frustration and well done for all your efforts over the last 50 years or so. It is interesting you say that you met resistance all the way. Over time I have run marketing campaigns some of which have worked others have met resistance. When this happens it is easy to blame the "audience" for being unreceptive. That's not the answer. The question to ask yourself is what is wrong with the presentation of my message and what do I need to do to make it work? Another few questions the campaigners needs to ask themselves. Greta Thunberg, will the unconverted see her as a powerful voice or a precocious brat? Emma Thomson, charismatic leader or Air Miles Emma? Is Tell The Truth a good sound bite or do people react badly to effectively being called liers? Do people know what the demands mean? What is a state of emergency? What is a Citizens Council? How do they work and what are the benefits? Why is the protest london centric? Should there not be blocked bridges in Glasgow, Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff and Belfast. Does this not give the impression that the protest is just a bunch of Southern Softies having a party? I have listened to a far few protesters being interviewed on the radio and TV. I am sorry to say none of them had anything to say that would change hearts and minds. They all hid behind soundbites and posters. Again let me say I agree with objective I just think The campaign needs to stop self congratulating itself and take a long hard look of what it is doing and how best to achieve its goal. Amen. |
