| Took me three hours to drive from Bexley to Brentford on the South Circular this afternoon. Whether this is knock-ons because of the climate activists or the closure of Hammersmith Bridge, I know not - but the congestion was severe. So all those idling vehicles including buses, HGV's etc be they diesel or petrol would have contributed substantially to the very pollution that these climateers are protesting about. How ironic. Surely they are fulfilling their own prophecy by their juvenile actions? I'm not averse to protest, but the Met police appear rather stretched these days, and can do without all this stuff. The Mayor seems unduly sympathetic towards them - but his job is to ensure his city functions for all. Were these protesters Brexiteers who were causing such mayhem and disruption - I suspect he would be much more vocal and intolerant. |
