On the basis that trees HAVE to be pruned/pollarded periodically for all sorts of reasons, maybe a better way of handling it would be to take a hit one miss one approach, attending to alternating trees in each street over a two year period. That way, at no time would any street be stripped bare and left ugly. Looking at images on the internet, it does appear that the way the trees are being pruned/pollarded is the right way, it's the timing and rather wholesale nature of the works which is the problem. |
