I realise the trees are an important habitat for wildlife but at the end of the day these are street trees and not trees in a park or a wood. Many residents complain when un-pruned trees block out light from windows and gardens and interfere with walls, fences, cables and pavements. There is a balance to be struck. The topic has been discussed at the Chiswick Area Monitoring meetings in the past. Would anyone like another opportunity to discuss tree-related issues with the axe-men (and women)? A great chance to say that councillors "cannot see the wood for the trees", "should turn over a new leaf", "are barking up the wrong tree", "do not know their ash from their elder" and to ask "where are the squirrels supposed to keep their nuts". |
