| I believe that the text is available in English but but is very complicated because it contains many cross-references and amendments to previous treaties. While not agreeing with a European Constitution myself, in many ways a Constitution may have been preferable as it would have contained all the provisions in one text. That way we would have been able to see what it contained and been able to agree or disagree with it in the same way that we can for example read the Constitution of the USA or of Ireland or of any state with a written Constitution. In fairness to the Irish, it is because the Irish have a Constitution that it is necessary for Ireland to have a referendum on this or any other EU Treaty.Ireland is now the only EU member state that is having a referendum.In this respect, Ireland is the only democracy left in the EU. The Treaty of Lisbon is a conspiracy by the Socialist, Liberal and Federalist politicans and bureaucrats of the EU against the people of the EU. |
