At the last local elections Conservative candidates in the area pledged to deal with the perceived problem of Chiswick being used as a 'cash cow' by Hounslow Council. Since they have been in charge the amount of revenue raising through parking fines and other charges has intensified to a level unthought of under Labour. Worse still the money has gone to fund massive increases in allowances for them and money wasting projects like 'corporate rebranding'. They have broken their promise and no longer have any democratic legitimacy or mandate to represent the borough. They should resign. But they won't because they are people without scruples, principles, integrity or shame. |
