Glad you have had a change of heart. It is amazing what facts and evidenced argument can achieve sometimes. You may however, have swung too far in the opposite direction. Unless you want to claim that the Ukrainians have already won which in a sense they have given that Putin has completely failed in his war aims, it is a bit of a stretch to say right now that the Ukrainians are winning. They still have suffered a net loss of territory and, as the clip you shared highlights have made little progress since the stunning successes in Kharkiv and Kherson other than the perhaps more strategically significant ending of Russian dominance of the Black Sea. The weak point is not Ukrainian resolve but western resolve. Who knows whether the current phase is a carefully considered strategy of squeezing Russian logistics until they are no longer capable of fighting or a haphazard series of strikes being made in the hope that something will happen but with no overall plan. The consensus seems to be that nothing significant is going to happen at least until next March and who knows what the global political situation will be like then. Perhaps if we get to September and the front lines remain more or less where we are, the Ukrainians will have a rethink but right now that simply isn't on the cards. |
