| If half the people at the market were local, and I think that is a reasonable estimate, then between 5-10% of the population of Chiswick was gathered at the Flower Market. Yet there has been no rise in infection. Why would the other 3,500 from outside the area, be more vulnerable? Given the rather hawkish statement from the council's leader Steve Curran on the front page currently, it may be the market will be called off but I really struggle to see a sound argument for doing so. If an overcrowded, badly organised first attempt didn't lead to infections why would a less well attended, better marshalled event be more of a risk? |
