| Down at Strand on the Green there were events because of the Thames Tidesfest. The smell of roast dinners was dangerously delicious but we weren't booked anywhere but it seemed the pubs and restaurants were doing well. People were out walking on the foreshore, and on the river in paddleboards and kayaks/canoes. It was a bit spoilt by the aggressive fast driving along those narrow winding roads. It's high time that the 20mph was enforced all over. We need to reallocate space to other better and healthier methods of travel and that means that cars have to figure less. Cycles sharing pavements should also have a speed limit. It would be great if Devonshire road was pedestrianised for the day with al fresco dining. |
