No – EU immigration is a confected problem. The scale of the problem (if indeed there really is an immigration problem) is even greater in the case of illegal non-EU nationals. But that doesn’t provide a stick with which to beat the EU – hence the silence of the Brexiteers about it. They can’t admit that we could leave the EU and still not achieve their object of “control of our own borders”. |
