I suspect the rationale behind this one is that the price of our exports is higher because of EU regulations, getting rid of the pesky regulations will enable us to join the race to the bottom in environmental and working conditions and therefore compete on a level (lower level) playing field. Of course this will be accompanied by long term plans to improve working conditions etc etc that will never be met. Of course getting rid of the regulations will stop us being able to export to the EU, but what the hell.... |
