My favourite "what utter bllx" claim is that the UK will somehow start exporting so much more outside the EU if we leave. That at first glance looks possible. But then you think - hang on, other countries in the EU are pretty good at exporting outside the EU today. In fact, much better than the UK is. So its not being in the EU that is the primary constraint on us exporting marvellous UK products to non-EU countries... and that means leaving the EU wont change our lack of export capabilities. |
