The Brexit 'more job & prosper' claims lacks credibility. For it to be true then we'd need to see examples of other potentially successful European countries being held back - like say Germany which clearly struggles to export outside the EU. Which it does not. And we'd need clarity on exactly what we would export and to where that we can't sell now. More banking services to America perhaps. That worked out so well in the past. The UK has a poor record of export success and often other EU countries are selling more to non-EU countries than we manage. How come they manage it? Why should leaving the EU suddenly improve our export capabilities? |
