I'm not sure what point you're trying to make Keith. If people were 'tardy', they would be trying to register the day after the deadline has passed, not the day before. Some people like to do things as early as possible, then there's 'the norm' and then there's the last minute brigade. The technological infrastructure should have been robust enough to cater for the predictable surge as the deadline approached. If the result is close, then the 'missing' thousands of votes would theoretically have produced a different result. This would lead to legal challenges and the whole damn circus would roll back into town. Let's get this right and fair so that everyone who wishes to cast their vote can do so. |
